Welcome!

Hi, I’m Jordan! I appreciate you taking the time to visit my personal website. This experience isn’t really tailored to just be one thing, but more of an opportunity to learn more about me, some of really cool things I’ve been fortunate enough to do, as well as a few of my personal hobbies and passions. Currently, I’m a Senior Social Media Manager at Paramount, where I manage and oversee the social strategy for BET Networks’ tentpoles, specials, and events. Prior to joining Paramount and BET, I worked at globally recognized brands such as Endeavor, New York University and Columbia University in various social and digital capacities.

While a student at the University of Missouri, I obtained both a BA in Strategic Communication and an MA in Higher Education and Student Affairs Leadership. In my free time, I enjoy weekly trips to the movies, attending Broadway shows and recording my very own podcast. Now that we have the formal introduction out of the way, feel free to learn more about my background and explore the rest of the site.

“Where I’m From”

That’s right - I’m a Midwest kid, as I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. Growing up as an only child, I found much of my enjoyment in art and immersed myself in film and television. But I always appreciated the opportunity to explore my city and expose myself to as much as I could with different activities and experiences.

Though I’m no longer there, St. Louis will always have a special place in my heart. Whether it was attending Cardinals baseball games every summer, or seeking thrills and excitement at Six Flags St. Louis, some of my fondest memories happened in the place that I call home.

What’s Happening Now?

After obtaining a Masters degree from Mizzou, I decided it was time for me to leave my comfort zone and start over in a completely new environment. In the summer of 2016, I was accepted into the highly prestigious Multicultural Advertising Internship Program. This incredible opportunity necessitated my relocation to New York City, something that I’m thankful for to this day. After completing the program, I began my full-time professional career in higher education, working in a variety of marketing and communication roles. Recently, I’ve transitioned to the entertainment industry to pursue passions that are closer to my personal interests and have worked with internationally recognized companies such as Endeavor and Paramount

Now that I’ve been in this new city for more than seven years, I often reflect and think about how lucky I am to be in a place I aspired to be for so long. Experiencing the energy of the city, the endless amount of activities, and the chance to be exposed to so many cultures have been nothing short of incredible.

"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of convenience and comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."

— Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Some movie magic.

If you know me, you know that I love movies. Not only do I enjoy watching them, but I’m equally as passionate about the discovery of films, old and new. I appreciate and celebrate the art of filmmaking and the brillaint people in front of and behind the camera. I’m even a bit old school, and have gone so far as to build my own personal library of thousands of films through the collection of physical media (it’s the 90’s kid in me). The movies have just always been a part of me. Whether it’s making weekly trips to my favorite theater to take full advantage my AMC A-List benefits, or discussing the newest film releases on my own weekly podcast, 2 Black Nerds, I am a true cinephile in every sense of the word. If you’re every interested in hearing or reading my thoughts an opinions, feel free to check out my podcast or take a look at my profile on Letterboxd, where I document everything I’m watching and write film reviews.

Look around.

Now that you have a better sense of who I am and where I come from, feel free to explore the rest of the website. As I mentioned above, there’s a variety of things included here such as professional experience, as well as a few things I’m passionate about and do in my free time. Plus, you can connect with me further if you’d like by sending an email or checking out my social media. Hope you enjoy!
