As the Senior Social Media Manager and Social Tentpole Lead, I own the overall social media marketing strategy for BET Tentpoles and Specials, which accumulated more than 500 million social video views in 2022 for the BET Awards, the Hip Hop Awards, and the Soul Train Awards, collectively. As a key member of the company’s marketing team, I frequently work cross-functionally with video, design, talent, production, public relations, and sales to deliver a robust social strategy that produces dozens of organic and sponsored social media executions for tentpole productions and programming. As a manager, I also oversee a team of producers and coordinators for each tentpole, ensuring day-to-day social executions and content are published across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat. Plus, I act as one of the key points of contact that frequently communicates with platform partners such as Meta, TikTok, and YouTube to cultivate and execute creative social executions at BET Tentpoles and Specials. As the former Assistant Director of Digital Communications, I managed and oversaw the social media strategy for the Enrollment Management division. This included ideating, writing, editing, scheduling, and publishing original daily social content for the eight units and offices within the Enrollment Management division such as Student Success, the Registrar, Financial Aid, and Opportunity Programs. To help with additional content creation, I managed a team of student ambassadors who assisted in creating organic social content across platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.
Beyond my social media responsibilities, I managed editorial strategy and publishing of web content for our various nyu.edu websites, which regularly garnered almost 6 million page views each year. To support the creation of content, I also managed writer and contributor groups from various internal stakeholders, as well as the content strategy of our storytelling platform, meet.nyu.edu. Additionally, I owned the operational process of content published through various nyu.edu websites and other content platforms, resulting in direct involvement of more than 500 original stories. As the Communications Officer at Columbia University, I managed and oversaw the social media strategy for the Undergraduate Enrollment Group, which frequently communicated to a prospective student audience of more than 200,000. Additionally, I assisted in the production of print, electronic and multimedia marketing and communications for the Undergraduate Enrollment Group. I also provided assistance with the strategy direction for the Undergraduate Admissions and Financial Aid websites and their other digital initiatives. During my tenure, I worked collaboratively and creatively with multiple units such as Events and Marketing to develop nuanced and successful print and digital content. Lastly, I managed a team of Columbia undergraduate students in the planning and execution of social and video content across Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter and YouTube. American Association of Advertising Agencies | Multicultural Advertising Internship Program Fellow

In early 2016, I was selected to participate in a 22-week fellowship program to hone my skills in the advertising industry from a talent source pool of over 3,800 colleges, universities and portfolio schools across the country. During the six-month duration of the program, I participated in a series of agency sponsored professional development workshops and seminars, which provided a deeper dive into the various advertising and media disciplines.
Furthermore, I participated in a paid, full-time internship with Momentum Worldwide in New York City for ten weeks as a member of their Integrated Production team. Here, I established the creation of a vendor database that added more than 35 live action, interactive and VR/AR agencies to the Momentum partner portfolio. I also conducted in-store research for competitive footwear brands about in-store technology and footwear health offerings. And, I managed the production of a digital signage workflow matrix by organizing the technical and production specs of more than 150 digital signs at 15 NFL stadiums across the country. At the end of the program, I worked on pitch collaborations for both the 4 A’s organization and Momentum Worldwide, and participated in the 4 A's Face of Talent networking event in New York City.
